You’d think they’ve managed to get across this tldr hurdle within the first few months of their relationship, but no. As one mentioned, the story never really strikes you as true and the reason among many is because there is an awkward distance between the author and his subject.

In general too, there is not a single character you feel for. That’s not even counting the horribly unrealistic dialogue! The front cover with ‘international bestseller’ across the top really got my hopes up. Gabriela is too Italian, whereas Lisa could be any nationality. I adored Shuichi Yoshida’s Villain. When i first started reading i paid at I have read some of the most rubbish books out there but i just couldn’t get through this one. I didn’t get to finish this book. Hardly a page goes by when you’re not reading something like this: Once you read it you’re no more impressed by their lives that we think interesting, parties, festivals, glamour, fans, luxury, these celebrities are acting in real life too, their seem happy but feel empty inside, and fear the day when all this inevitably ends.

How does this compare to Coelho’s earlier novels? I hate this book more after I finished it.
