In spite of the origin of occupational therapy being related to the field of Vocational Rehabilitation, there is a lack of studies that link both of them. The issue is very delicate, since a concept of work constructed throughout an entire career cannot be deconstructed – nor should it be – due to risky conditions of the labor market and to the fact that many of these workers did not have the possibility of assigning different meanings to their work regarding the choice of what to do or exercising their potential.
